Thank fuck. I haven’t blogged here for 3.5 years, because for various reasons, and one of the bigger ones was not being inspired by a lot of music out today. I’ve grown to appreciate some newer artists and go with how hip hop music is evolving, and I feel I’m in a more positive place to write here again. ‘California Love‘ is one of those tracks that I chose to learn all the lyrics to, back when I was 11 years old and had to wait for the song to play on the radio, record it, then rewind and pause the cassette tape to write down what I thought the words were. Man those were the days. So here’s Kendrick Lamar paying homage to one of rap’s greatest, mixing it up with his own track M.A.A.D. City at the iHeartRadio Awards 2014.
