[Event] TLC Australia Tour, June 2014

90s RnB fans rejoice! TLC are bringing their CrazySexyCool to Australia for the first time ever. “Dreams are hopeless aspirations / In hopes of coming true, believe in yourself / The rest is up to me and you.” I haven’t seen the movie yet based on them featuring Lil Mama, but I caught her with the original two, T-Boz and Chilli, performing “Waterfalls” at the 2013 American Music Awards. Waves of nostalgia flooded over me and I got super emotional watching this. A signficant part of my upbringing along with my all-time idol, Aaliyah, these ladies still got it. Check out the trailer for the TLC Movie: TLC Australia 2014 tour…

[Event Review] SKB WIN R16 Oceania 2014!

And the winner is… SKB!!! SKB took out the crew battles, the senior battle (Bboy Blond) and placed 2nd in Juniors (Bboy Bred). Here is my recap of R16 Oceania 2014, I will keep updating this page with videos and photos as I find them. What I love about R16 R16 is one of those few dance related events or competitions that I’ll go to in Australia, because I know the quality is always gonna be high. Here’s why. 1. You got the best MC possible – MC Mistery (who is also one of the main peeps responsible for putting on this event) is fucking hilarious. All the inside jokes…

I only heard about this event two days ago and I’m so glad it’s being held in Australia again. R16 is one of the biggest bboy competitions in the world, with qualifiers across many different countries, leading to the world finals in South Korea. I’m extremely proud of my all-time favourite Aussie bboy crew, SKB (Street Kulture Breakers) being the نحن نوصي عادة بمحاولة الأدوية. إذا لم ينجح هذا ، فإن الإحالة إلى طبيب مسالك البولية للخيارات الجراحية ستكون الخطوة التالية. شحن سريع إذا كنت ترغب في شراء الفياجرا على العداد في الإمارات العربية المتحدة وضمان الجودة! rel=”noopener”>Australian champions last year, ranking 3rd in the world at the finals in…

Farewell to Rangi “Rangsta Boogie” Harris, 1969-2013

My friend Rangi Harris loved Hip Hop and he loved sharing it with whomever he could. He was involved in all aspects of the street culture for most of his life and was often found at events, supporting the Aussie Hip Hop scene and catching up with everyone. He would always make time to talk to you and see how you’re doing, genuinely interested and encouraging of your passion. Shoutout to his close friend, Mistery, who arranged an amazing day of tributes complete with new graffiti pieces, T-Shirts, a mixtape by DJ MK-1, a moving ceremony and farewell jam at the Street University in Liverpool. Sad to see him…

Event Review: Destructive Steps 4 ft Mr Wiggles, Bboy Ynot, Bboy Blond, Jinjo Crew and Poppin Hozin

So it’s been a minute since I last reviewed an event and that’s probably because I’ve stopped going to a bunch of them after years of attending almost every single one in Sydney to the point where I can predict sets across a bunch of local street dancers (mostly the bboys). Destructive Steps 4 was pretty dope; there was a good turnout and lots of energy around. I’ll admit I came 3.5 hours after the event started (which was a big improvement from last year when I arrived just as they finished announcing the winners). I didn’t see any of the popping battles except for the finals and the exhibition…
